"I will build my church..." Matthew 16:18

 

Jesus spoke those words after Peter made an astonishing confession of Christ. Our vision is to lead people to a Peter-like confession of Christ and then to help them grow and live that confession of Christ. In this text, Jesus gives us the context in which such labors need to take place: the local church.

 

The Mission statement places the Vision statement in a proper context by narrowing the scope. This could be likened to "the playbook" the team decide to use. Heather and I have come to understand our ministry as primarily a church planting endeavor and so we adopted the following Mission Statement:

 

Our Mission is to plant fundamental, independent, Baptist, indigenous churches in the south of Holland, where adults and youth can be thoroughly equipped to live the christian life in the Dutch culture.
